Short Bio

Jamie Vaughn is from Winnipeg in Canada. She is both an Oncology Nurse as well as a Reiki Master. She only began painting using mainly acrylic medium in August 2021 as a means to cope with health issues and anxiety. She soon found that she could paint her emotions on canvas and tell her stories through this mode of communication. Heavenly themes are scattered throughout her artwork as a way to cope and connect with the loss of her father. Her time at Artbeat studio in Winnipeg was a true blessing which made space for art healing and empowerment. Now it's time to branch out and include a few other themes in the repertoire! During her time spent in Saudi Arabia much traveling was done so one goal now is to paint many photos that were taken years ago from fascinating countries like Africa Nepal China Israel...and the journey has just begun.

Statement

My art reflects my spiritual journey which has allowed me to transcend to a point of finding gratitude and appreciation for life and learning to live with intention. Meditation soothes my soul and allows me to connect with the archangels and my dad. Both dreams and meditations often serve as a platform for which my artistic creations are born. Many images evoke emotional responses and i cope by painting it on canvas. I love angels, portals, spirit animals but am also branching out into plein air now that I've had one years experience! Change is good

Biography

Jamie is from Winnipeg in Canada and enjoyed drawing in her childhood years but only returned to art much later in life  Her dad passed away in 2015 and she did not fully process this grief, being in denial of his death for years.  This seemed to result in worsening medical conditions to which she accessed Qigong as part of her therapy. This resultant energy lead her to training in Reiki and in 2019 she started creating healing bracelets. In August 2021 she began in earnest to create meaningful paintings  and by 2022 Jamie became a Reiki Master, volunteering with her skills to help others. Meanwhile her nursing career has focused on oncology and has taken her as far as Saudi Arabia.

Jamie is self taught in art spending six months at Artbeat studio during which time she flourished both as an artist and in healing through art. Her artworks are very spiritual, celestial and meant to heal as they are blessed with Reiki
